At 3DPRINTHIVE, the safety of our customers is our top priority. This policy outlines our commitment to comply with the UK’s General Product Safety Regulations 2005 (GPSR), ensuring that every 3D-printed item we design, manufacture, and sell is safe for consumer use.

1. Our Commitment to Safety

We design and produce each item with safety in mind. All our products:

  • Are carefully assessed for risks such as choking hazards, sharp edges, or breakability.
  • Use non-toxic, high-quality filaments such as PLA and PETG, sourced from trusted suppliers.
  • Include appropriate labels and warnings based on their intended use and audience.

2. Product Assessment & Testing

Before any product is made available for sale:

  • It undergoes a detailed safety assessment for physical and material risks.
  • Articulated models (like our dragons) and decorative items (such as fairy houses) are evaluated for durability and proper function.
  • Items not intended for young children are clearly marked, e.g., “Not a toy – for decorative use only”, “Choking hazard – not suitable for children under 36 months”

3. Labelling & Instructions

We provide clear, visible safety guidance with each item where necessary:

  • Age recommendations and warnings are added where applicable.
  • Products are labelled to reflect safe usage and handling instructions.
  • Where applicable, instructions for assembly or maintenance are provided.

4. Traceability

Each batch of our 3D-printed products is traceable by:

  • Material type and supplier
  • Print settings and printer used
  • Production date and batch records

This ensures we can respond quickly and accurately to any safety concerns or regulatory inquiries.

5. Corrective Action & Recalls

If a product is found to pose a safety risk:

  • We will immediately remove it from sale.
  • Affected customers will be contacted directly if applicable.
  • A product recall will be issued if necessary, and relevant authorities informed.

6. Customer Feedback & Continuous Improvement

Customer feedback is vital to maintaining safety and quality. We encourage users to contact us with any concerns about product safety.
This policy is reviewed at least once a year and whenever there are changes in legislation or materials used.
